The purpose of this database is to collect and disseminate information of use to libraries in developing countries and to bring together people who are interested in helping these libraries to succeed. In the following pages, you will find information on international, regional and country-specific organizations. We suggest that you start by browsing the international and regional resources before moving on to the country pages.

Much of the information for this version of the database is reprinted from Libraries for All:  How to Start and Run a Small Library.  This basic manual and resource guide was prepared by the World Library Partnership under contract from UNESCO

Please note that this Internet database contains information about many organizations that are not included in Libraries for All, which focuses.  exclusively on organizations serving small and/or rural libraries in developing countries.  In addition to the full organizational descriptions from Libraries for All, this database contains annotated links to programs serving large libraries, universities, country-specific programs and other important organizations outside the scope of Libraries for All..

If you would like to suggest additions to the database, make corrections or have any general comments, please e-mail us. We would be happy to receive suggestions for new links. We appreciate receiving corrections and updates! The database is currently maintained by student interns and volunteers who update it as they can. WLP cannot guarantee the accuracy of information you find here or link to from our site. If you find the information in this database useful, please make a donation to help us maintain it.
